ABSTRACT
This is the .first study in the Egyptian Mediterranean waters about the
thecate hydroid5. The MOlphology, Systematic, position & distribution offour
d![(erent species belonging to the thecate hydroids ofthe Families: Haleciidae
& Lafoeidae were studied and discussed The materials were previously
collected by means of dredge along the Egyptian Mediterranean Coast
between Port Said and West ofEI Alamain The ident!fied species comprise:
Halecium lankesterN, Halecium delicatulum. Filellum selpens & Grammaria
.~p.. All these species are newly recordedfor the Egyptian Mediterranean
waters.
