The achievements and development of the scientific journal “The Egyptian Journal of Aquatic Research” (EJAR):

  • In 2012, the Egyptian Journal of Aquatic Research joined Elsevier B.V., and it has become an international open access journal, which publishes an annual volume of 4 issues.
  • In 2014, the scientific journal became indexed in Scopus and Zoological records.
  • In 2014, EJAR received its first CiteScore of 0.6, a metric developed by Elsevier that has the same formula of the impact factor (IF) to measure the extent of the journal’s performance.

  • In 2018, the journal became indexed in Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Preview and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).
  • In 2019, EJAR became Q2 in all its specializations; namely ‘Aquatic Science’, ‘Ecology, evolution and Systematics’, ‘Oceanography’, and ‘Water Science and Technology’.
  • Since 2022, EJAR became Q1 in all the following categories: ‘Aquatic Science’, ‘Ecology, Evolution, Behavior and Systematics’, ‘Oceanography’, and ‘Water Science and Technology’.
  • In 2023, EJAR has achieved a new milestone by being included in the Web of Science coverage and this was followed by a bigger achievement, which is to receive its first Impact factor of 3.5 and be listed in the Master Journal List (MJL).
