ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study is to gather detailed information on the distribution and
concentration levels of some heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb & Cd), major cations (Ca,
Mg, Na & K), in addition to organic matter in the Bardawil lagoon sediments during four
successive seasons during (2001-2002). The different metals concentrations could be
arranged in descending order as follows: – Ca> Na> Fe> Mg> K> Mn> Cu> Zn> Pb> Cd.
