The tobl fish production of lake Borollus decreased gradually
front 15,253 tons in 19i3li to 12,898 tons iu 19 is This marked
decrease was probably due to the cessation of the fertile Nile
water from reaching the lake, afcor the construction of the Aswan
High Dam. In 19J7, the total fish catch of luke Bo ro llus was
13, 500 tons. of which the grey mullet constituted Hi% (2125
tons) : of thrs J[. capita was 156-1 tone (73.!i%), M. eephahi«
comprised 550 to ns {2li%l and M. saliens II tons (O.5%).
