STUDIES ON THE BOTTOM DEPOSITS OF THE EGYPTIAN LAKES.

ABSTRACT
Sedfment sa~les were collected froM six Egyptfan
lakes and subjected to ,~ physical and chemical
investigations. The percentages and amounts of
different components of each lake sediMents were
compared with those of ~e others 1n order to
illustrate the varfations in compos1tion of the
Egyptian lake sediments.
Variable amounts of organic .etter. calcareous
substances. allochthonous materials and di.t~
siHca lMre deposited on tlte bottOlll of the [mtain
lakes. The distributfon of these compvnents in the
Egyptain lake sedfments ..-, found dependet lIIinly
upon certain factors which .-re dfscussed.
