ABSTRACT
In the present worlc 5 widely used chlorinated
pesticides were telted to alsess the potential
use of coagulation af a lllean for reduc1nll the load
on advanced physicochemical processes suc” as
activated carbon, fon exchange and .embrane
processes. The resul ts Indicated that the removal
is through sweep floc fdsorpt1on mechanism.
The percentage re~val Increased with increase
fn coagulant dose ‘Ref decrease in pH. The pr’!sence
of Ca (II) and Hg (II) had a minor effect on the
rellOval efficiency, while the increase in
flocculatfon contact t1-lDe slightly 1ll1proved the ——–,~.
