ABSTRACT
Unlike other Egyptian lakes and River Nile, phytoplankton
in Hanzalah Fish-Farm belong to Cyanophyta and Chr)’Sophyta. The
former was the most dominant group forming 61.651 of ·the total
phytoplankton. Cyanophyta was represented by Anabaena sp. (29.641),
Oscfllatorfa sp. (28.491) and Anabaenopsfs sp. (3.521). Chr)’Sophyta
was less dominant, being composed mainly of Nftzschfa sp. (37.271)
and other species of rare occurrence (1.081). These included
Pleurosfglll. ~sfgllll. Dfplonefs. Surfrella. Nostoc. Syneclra
and Melosfra species.
