ABSTRACT
The hydrological characteristics of the S.E. Mediterranean during
1964-1971 is described. The apparent utilization and the over
saturation of oxygen is determined in the surface and subsurface
water layers. The over saturation values· are recently indicated
within 0.90-0.05 ml/l. The gross weights of both oxygen fractions
are calculated. Monthly standing gross value of 050 ranges in between
15.0 and 341.5 thousand tons in the continental shelf waters north
to the Nile delta. Clear regional and seasonal yariations are
detected.
