ABSTRACT
Egypt extends across some 10 degrees of Latitudes (22″-32° N) and 9
degrees of Longitudes (25″ _3-10 Ej. In the present paper lhe
meteorological conditions and rate ofel’aporation, for at least one-sumpot
actiyity cycle, over diffirent regions ofEgypt were studied. The air mass is
cool in Winter. while it is wann Summer. Lower air temperature is in
Delta, while higher value IS over Red Sea coast and We\·t T)e ‘p .., The
pressure oscillation orer Egypl has \’er ” r 1011′
in Summer and high in Winter. It is high In north decreases southward
The wind jield mrie’ from place fV another, and also wah lime. The
norllrer(v currems are strong affect. especially on Mediferraneafl Sea
coast. Tire southerly currents are high affect on the most areas. except
northern region In late Spring and Summer the winds reach tht!ir main
peaks, while the low winds are in Winter except northern region. The
lower wind speeds are at Delta and West Desert. while its higher 5peeds
are in Red Sea coast. The higher air humidity is in Winter, while its lower
value is in Spring. Relative humidity is high in northern regIOn and Delta
while it is 1011′ in West Desert and south extreme of Wadi EI-Ntle. The rate
ofevaporation is low in Winter, while it is high in Summer. The lower rate
of evaporation is in Delta. while its higher values are in Red Sea coast,
The value ofmean annual evaporation O\’er Egypt is relatil’e(v agreement
with evaporation estimations ofOcean Atlas.
