ABSTRACT
The present study deals with a comprehensive analysis of
length·welght relationship and relative condition
coefficient of three species of clchlld fishes, O. ntlotteua
(Linn.), T. ztllti (Gtrv.) snd S. galtl..ua (Ltnn.).
tnhabltlng three different ecological zones; (El-Gemll.
El-Glnkah and Middle zones) at Lake Manzalah throughout the
period 1986-1988. It could be reported that the pooled
regression coefficient revealed an allometric growth for O.
ntlotteua end T. ztllt et the Middle end El- Glnkeh zones.
while growth Isometry wes evident for the three studied
species at El-Gemll zone. The highest reletlve condition
factor wes recorded at the Middle end El-Glnkeh zones for
the three clchlld species except S. gal tleeua which had the
highest reletlve condition ‘et El-Gemll zone. Test of
slgnlflcence Indiceted the highest reletlve condition for
s. gal tleeua. followed by o. ntloticus. end the lowest for
T. ztllit. The representetion of reletlve condition fector
es e function of length. revealed e strong positive llneer
correletlon for O. ntlottcus end T., ztllit’ and e weak
correletlon for S. galtleeua. Comparing the reletlve
condition fector et present study with thet at previous
years hes shown e decreesing tendency due to progressive
eccumuletion of pollutent In the Lake’s water
