ABSTRACT
The coastal waters of Alexandria receives annualy
about 183 x 106 m3 of untreated sewage. Abou( 20%
of this amount Is discharged to the Eastern Harbour
rendering it highly fertile. The effect of waste
water and sewage discharge on the phys1 cochem1 cal
characteristics (temperature, transparency, salinity,
pit and alkatfnfty) of the lIarbour water were carefully
studied and discussed
