ABSTRACT
The geochemical characteristics of marine
sediments from Al-Ghardaqa region were investigated.
This investigation dealt with the collected sediments
in two steps; as a beach sediments representing
the tidal lone and as a bottom sediments representing
the shelf lone.
The concentrations of carbonates. calcium.
magnesium. strontium. sodium. potassium, chloride
and sulphate were determined. Relationships between
elements WLre illustrated and the effect of both
the detrital and biogenic contributions was revealed.
